Director of Product

The role of Product Director aims to guide our development efforts by analyzing and defining the direction that Voilà! takes for the coming years. You will thus be required to lead the product design team so that our platforms remain innovative and adequately meet the needs of our customers. A position combining creativity and strategy!

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Manage a growing team of designers, UX experts and product marketing experts
  • Analyzing and understanding the behaviors and needs of Voilà! users
  • Taking ownership and translating the company’s vision into functional requirements
  • Define the details of the platform’s functional requirements, and ensure they are met throughout the design and development phases of the product
  • Define the functional requirements for the design team
  • Execute and communicate the benefits and evolution of the product internally and to our customers.
  • Analyze the evolution of competing products and market trends.
  • Create and maintain a visible record of internal and external requests that are constantly prioritized to maximize product value.
  • Analyze user requirements, then develop features, user stories as well as acceptance criteria to meet them.
  • Ensure user stories are clear and easily understood by the development team.
  • Make firm decisions regarding the direction of the development team.
  • Inspect the development team’s deliverables and guide the development team to stay focused on results.
  • Measure the effectiveness and acceptance of developed features for optimization purposes.

What you will bring to the team

  • Proven experience in functional design of digital products.
  • Ability to communicate and popularize technical concepts.
  • Experience in Agile Kanban development.
  • Experience in technology project management.
  • Knowledge of HR, payroll or operational technologies.
  • Ability to be a strategic thinker, innovative and curious.
  • Business acumen and leadership skills.
  • Good team player, self-starter who takes initiative.
  • Empathy and understanding of the reality of our clients.

Nice to have

  • 7+ years of experience in SaaS product management.
  • Knowledge of HR, payroll or operational technologies.
  • Experience in technical development.
  • Understanding of the differences in behaviors between different North American markets.
